History. Contrary to public
opinion, someone always pays for identity theft. Whether it be the bank
who issued the credit card and paid for merchandise, or the consumer whose
checking account was forged, or the merchant who lost merchandise to a purchase
that charged back on a credit card, someone always pays. Merchants turn
away, today, very high percentages of orders given by internet, due to the
extremely high volumes of attempted internet fraud purchases. The effort
to process so many "SPAM" orders is very costly, and breakdowns in the
system can still let in those occasional frauds who buy merchandise using
others' identities.
In 2002, PC industry founder, Dr. Jack Shulman, discovered that he was unable to convince the credit card companies and banks to mandate an automated means by which to capture a confidential pin number for use authenticating credit card usage, the way ATM machines do. Most people only have one ATM, so remembering a six digit confidential pin was easy. And, the Bank only had to offer it's funds to a regulated and secure net of ATM companies, so insuring the pin would not be compromised was simple. But the idea of doing so confidentially through every single Merchant taking a credit card rendered it difficult for credit card companies and banks with check cards to comprehend: to them it was too costly, so why not make it the Merchant's problem by always charging back the Merchant, and NOT provide adequate security. It appeared to Dr. Shulman that every credit card merchant in the world was very unhappy with what was felt to be a very insecure credit card processing system with no means to block truly professional crooks: credit cards, check cards, debit cards and even checks passed daily in a manner in which every vendor in the world had to risk it's existence just to accept. So, Jack sat down with a team of highly distinguished and qualified advisors, to come up with a way to protect consumers, banks, merchants and others from the problem of theft by theft of identity. And Thumbcard™ is what everyone ultimately agreed was the right answer. How it Works. Thumbcard™ requires only that a merchant (such as a fast foods restaurant, clothing store, or internet website) have the appropriate form of thumb scanning pad, a very tiny, low cost version of today's inexpensive flat bed scanners no bigger than one's thumb. In the case of online users, a scanning pad for use with all IBM and MACINTOSH PCs is available and can either be purchased, or acquired through one's Bank Thumbcard™ department. No bigger than one's thumb, these scanners can sit on checkout counters, be part of hand held wireless data-pads used by gas station attendants, or can be part of the keyboard of your home PC. Yet, once a merchant accepts them, purchases can be made safely in under 30 seconds. Thumbcard converts your thumb or forefinger's fingerprint into a secure, encrypted number, your account number. A small keypad or keyboard entry device let's you enter your Thumbcard Security Pass™ number (TSP™). You can change your TSP™ as often as you like, but must change it at least semi annually (that's twice a year!). Once you press your Thumb to the scanner, and typed in your 6 digit confidential TSP, you're purchase is made, and you know it was made by you. TCI uses hardware and software that prevents any transaction from being duplicated, nor can any transaction be "cloned" - your Thumbcard™ is safe, because once you use it, that information can never be used again to commit a later on purchase. All Thumbcard™ purchases are TIME VAULTED so they can not be reused. How it Protects Your Id: THUMBCARD™ ANONYMOUS PROXY™ Unless it is a part of your transaction, such as purchasing an automobile or some other licensed transaction, no one need ever know who you are nor what you purchased or sold. Yes, Thumbcard™ is also for Merchants, they can sell using their own Thumbcard™ - a new form of credit commerce that entitles them to RECEIVE PAYMENT rather than to render it that simplifies Merchant Banking with Thumbcard™. TCI does NOT release any information about you to any third party, not your name, not your address, and not your identity. All Thumbcard™ Transactions are hardwired in such a way, that only TCI's Central TSP™ Processing Center ever understands our highly secure, encrypted Thumbcard™ scans. Only TIC's Central TSP™ Processing Center identifies your purchase, assigning it to your credit card, checking or savings bank account. You can look up your transactions in real time using the Manager Your Account feature of Thumbcard™, but no one else can, because that, too, is protected by Thumbcard™. The only exception is in the circumstances of a Business Thumbcard™ Designee, whose Thumbcard™ Authority may be "allowed" to maintain an account for an executive superior, as in the case of an Administrative Assistant, or in Family Thumbcard™ Management enrolled persons, who may wish certain transactions to involve two or more members of the same immediate family. Even then, every transaction is identified by the Thumbcard™ and TSP™ in use. How it Protects Your Business: THUMBCARD PATs™ (Perfectly Authenticated Transactions) Simply put, a Thumbcard™ transaction can not be counterfeited. And, the procedures for linking Thumbcard™ to Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Check Cards, ATM Cards, Debit Cards, and Thumbcard™ Deposit Accounts (where you can put money for direct payment if you wish) is foolproof. No one can attach their Thumbcard™ to your bank or credit accounts. And that insures that every, single Thumbcard™ transaction, whether a payment or a sale, is 100% wholly authentic. Never again can a thief simply steal an identity and steal your products, never again can a thief steal your identity and rob your checking account. The entire world of Buying and Selling just go about 99% safer!!! Individuals only ever have to register ONCE IN A LIFETIME to receive their Thumbcard™. And only one Thumbcard™ is ever needed. You attach your payment or receiving merchant accounts to your Thumbcard™ and once enabled, you get to determine the standard usage. Merchants will have a Thumbcard™ pad with three buttons, one green with an "!" mark to commit payment to or from your "default" payment account, and one blue with a "&" mark to select a different account (we store all your credit and bank accounts for you, under code names...) and one Red with a "circle and line" to Cancel the transaction. In addition, the Thumbcard™ pad will have a numeric entry pad for entering your TSP. From the Web, or over our Phone Care line, you can add and delete accounts. Since we are not Credit Providers, your financial arrangements (other than the ability to charge purchases) with your credit and banking providers is not circumstantial, so we NEVER Cancel your Thumbcard™ unless you order us to do so. Even if you have credit difficulties, the Thumbcard™ Cash Management Account is available to all qualified users to either hold cash for payments, or to receive cash from merchant activities. Thumbcard™ CMA and all other Thumbcard™ activities are wholly PROTECTED by [ Name of Security Company ]. Safety is our business!!! The Technology that could end Theft for all time. Using a new kind of Thumb
Scanning system, Thumbcard™
is able to produce "secure signature scans" that no hacker or security
expert can meaningfully reproduce. Dr. Shulman states: "The
technology we use no longer uses conventional means to identify you nor to store
your thumb id, we use a proprietary method we call 'Thumbcard™-scanning'.
So, merely having a reproduction electronically of your thumbprint is entirely
useless to the hacker or identity thief, it can't even be pumped electronically
into one of our existing Thumbcard terminals: for it would simply be ignored.
Furthermore, we use a six digit confidential pin that we encrypt and which is
varied by our customers, backed by follow up authentication required on
purchases or payments above pre-set spending limits, requiring one to do
'selected-location-Thumbcard-scanning' and further verification, in order to
confirm higher risk transactions." "Finally, only Thumbcard
Authorized means to render payment or receive payment can be used with our
systems. Even though we do communicate with Public networks, once in
session with us, unless one is appropriately authorized (which requires, yep,
you guessed it, their Thumbcard scan, too...), no one can not commit fraud.
Nothing is left up to chance. Transactions entered from private
locations, known as 'blind-entry' transactions, where some electronics wizard
might try and duplicate the scan of a third party's thumb are rendered null and
void by virtue of our Artificially Intelligent Supervisor, who is armed with
other means to block transactions wherever someone might try to electronically
fool our technology. By combining security methods, we can guarantee every
transaction's authenticity, no matter even what an electronic security expert
might try to attempt, in order to violate our methods." "Not only saving you the trouble with identity theft, but perhaps ending any possibility of robbery or mugging, for all time. Imagine a world that's safe to work in."
