1927 – C.P. Dean, who had been employed by the Bell Telephone Laboratories, establishes C.P. DEAN, INC. Soon after, W.G. Nordling, a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology joined the company.

1955 – The company name changes to Nordling, Dean and Company.

1962 – Nordling, Dean Electric Co., Inc. is created with the intention of turning over all assets of Nordling, Dean and Company over to long-time employees who had shown great loyalty as well as outstanding technical and managerial abilities.

1968 – 1972 – Nordling, Dean Electric is established as an independent entity and Watson Smith, Don Cain, George Joeckel, and Frank Meier became the new owners.

1973 – Nordling, Dean Electric becomes a member of the Federated Electrical Contractors (FEC). This international network of leading electrical contractors dedicated to safely providing our customers with the highest quality electrical and datacom services at competitive pricing regardless of geographic location.

1981 – Watson Smith ascends to the presidency and becomes the sole owner.

1986 – Jerry Murphy, PE a graduate of Manhattan College becomes assistant president and begins a new ownership transition.

1994 – Jerry Murphy becomes president of Nordling, Dean Electric Co., Inc.

2001 - Nordling, Dean Electric acquires a franchise from TEGG Corporation. As a Tegg Service Contractor, Nordling, Dean Electric provides uncompromising, professional Customer Service.

2002 – Jerry Murphy becomes sole owner of the company.

2003 -  Under Jerry Murphy's leadership, Nordling, Dean Electric continues to expand its role in enterprise businesses in the tri-state area, adding more contractor activities and expanding its base of operations.

2005 - Nordling, Dean moves to newer, more modern facilities in North Branch, New Jersey.

Today – Nordling Dean continues to draw on its many years of experience and a staff comprising mainly of Engineers, Estimators, Construction supervisors, Project managers and office personnel.
